THOUGHTS

Thoughts of the Mind meditated upon will soon become Thoughts of the Heart acted upon. ”

Pastor O

Thoughts are nothing more than moving images in your mind. The objective of every thought is to become a living reality. A thought will die in the intellectual realm if attention is not given to it. Proverbs 23:7 "... for as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." You might think to yourself how can someone think in their heart? Well a thought doesn't originate in the heart, it begins in the mind first. A thought must be accepted as truth in order for it to become a belief in the heart. So many people have accepted thoughts that have come to their mind thinking that every thought is their own. Just because a thought comes to your mind does not mean you have to accept it. Philippians 4:8 gave us instructions for what kind of thoughts we are to let dominate us: true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report. If a thought comes to your mind that does not line up with Philippians 4:8, we are instructed in I Corinthians 10:5 to cast it down (to resist).

You have control over your mind. If a thought of negativity, despair, dsetruction, or wickedness comes up before you, you say "No satan, I will not accept that thought. I take captive every idle thought. You will not have dominance over me. I plead the Blood of Jesus over my mind. I think only on things that are true, honest, just, pure, and lovely. I have the mind of Christ in Jesus Name." There are countless individuals that have accepted lies of the enemy because they didn't know they had power over their thoughts. The mind is the place where satan will try to feed you lies, doubt, unbelief, fear and discouragement. You have been given authority over the enemy but you have to stand your ground. I Peter 5:6-7 talks about how the devil looks for those he can devour, but we are to stand firm against him (withstand). The word "withstand" in verse 7 means "to hold out against the opposition." It doesn't matter if that thought comes to your mind 1,000 times a day, you keep speaking the Word and making the confession at the top of this paragraph; that's how you withstand. The enemy would love nothing greater than to see you succumb to his tactics. The only power the enemy has over you is the power you give him.

There is a principle in Matthew 6:34 that is also enlightening, and it reads "Take therefore no thought..." When you take possession of something it then belongs to you. If a package arrives at your house that is addressed to someone else, you can either sign for it or have the mailman return it to sender. Just because a thought (package) arrives at your mind (house), doesn't mean you have to sign for. You are only responsible for what you take possession of and not something that was left for you by someone else. You decide what thoughts you want to keep. You don't have to put up with thoughts of failure, death, disease, perversion, lust, pornography, wickedness, destruction, etc. Don't you let the devil take over your mind!
